5 Foiling Hacks to Work Faster Without Sacrificing Results

5 Foiling Hacks to Work Faster Without Sacrificing Results

Work faster. Stay precise. Get better results — here’s how.

Every minute counts behind the chair. When you're juggling back-to-back clients, tight timing, and content to capture — foiling faster (without compromising results) can be the ultimate time-saver.

But faster doesn’t mean sloppy. It means smarter tools, smarter placement, and smarter prep. Here’s how to streamline your process and still serve flawless foils every time.

1. Use the Right Foil Size for the Job

If you're folding short foils over long hair or double-stacking just to cover a wide section — you're already wasting time.

That’s why we created:

- Extra-Long Foils (15 x 40cm) – No folding required for those mermaid-length clients. More coverage in less time = faster rinses and fewer slips.
- Extra-Wide Foils (20 x 35cm) – Perfect for back sections, balayage panels, or thick hair. One foil covers more ground, keeps sections clean, and speeds up your workflow.

Bigger foils = fewer foils = less time. Simple.

 2. Pre-Cut = Prepped for Speed

Rolling, tearing, and folding foils mid-service? Time-consuming.

All of our foils — especially our Pop ups and Flats — come pre-cut and ready to go in our signature easy-dispense boxes. You literally grab, place, and move on.

No prep. No delay. No compromise.

 3. Foil with Intention

Your foil placement matters — not just for the result, but for your timing too. Tight, intentional sections = less overlap, cleaner results, faster rinses.

Pro tip: Use wider foils across the back and crown, then switch to standard or pop-ups around the face frame for precision and speed.

 4. Create a Smoother Salon Flow

Every second counts — especially between rinses, toners, and foiling.

Cut down on delays by setting up your station so everything flows naturally:

- Foils are stacked and ready
- Bowls and brushes are prepped
- You’re not leaving the chair mid-service

Less running around = more time doing what you do best.

 5. Stop Folding — Seriously.

It can be a tough habit to break, but folding in the sides of your foil adds extra steps you just don’t need.

Our foils are deeply embossed for grip, so there's no need to fold the sides to keep them in place — they’re staying put.

Instead, lay the foil flat, apply your colour, then simply fold upwards to insulate the section. Leave the sides open and let the foil do its thing.
 Clean. Quick. Efficient.
