Celebrating Earth Week: 4 Steps to Recyclable Hair Foil

As Earth Week approaches, it's a time for us all to reflect on our impact on the planet and consider what steps we can take to protect and preserve it for future generations. While many industries are making strides towards sustainability, the hairdressing industry is not one to be left behind. With a few simple changes to our practices, we can significantly reduce our environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.

Step 1. FOIL
Colour as per usual knowing that you are about to do the environment
a favour. Let your client know that you are a colourist who cares and that your
salon is a sustainable one.

Step 2. RINSE
After the colouring process has finished,
take your Foxy Blondes sheets off your client’s head and rinse
lightly at the basin.

Step 3. CRUSH
Then crush the sheets into tight
balls. Your foil balls should be the size of a tennis ball
(or bigger). Size matters, the bigger the balls the better. Place them in a container
and repeat until your recycle container is full!

Step 4. DROP OFF
Once your bin is full, it's essential to know the proper recycling facilities in your area. Follow the link to find one local to you: https://businessrecycling.com.au/ Simply visit their website and enter your location to find the nearest recycling centres that accept foil and other salon-related materials.

As members of the hairdressing industry, we have a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment. By embracing sustainable practices and recycling responsibly, we can reduce waste, conserve resources, and help protect the planet we all call home. This Earth Week, let's commit to making a difference and ensuring a greener future for generations to come.
